1.6.00, 11:00 a.m.: Alright
I added all of the screenshots.
Raite Optoelectronics Co. Has signed to manufacture NUON enhanced DVD
players in Taiwan. In all honesty I was starting to doubt VMLabs, but not
any more. We should have at least one more update today and will continue
to lead the coverage of NUONs now loud upcoming launch!
1.6.00, 10:25 a.m.: Oh yeah,
VMLabs has updated their nuon site with screens and news. The best selling
PC game ever is coming to NUON, Myst! Most of the top games have new screen
shots and all of them are equal to Dremacast shots in my opinion. Check
them out for yourself at: pictures
1.6.00, 10:16 a.m.: Motorola
held a a Conference Call yesterday to outline a "New Sector on Media".
They discussed how motorola is positioned to serve the exploding market
for broadband. They also announced that they have completed the merge with
GIC after shareholder approval. The merger is valued at approximately $17
Billion, each share of GI stock was converted to .575 shares shares of
Motorola common stock. The merger positions Motorola as a leader in the
convergence of voice, video and data technologies. The combined company
will focus on broadband solutions, which deliver interactive television,
the internet and telephone services over wired and wireless networks. At
this time we do not know exactly went on at the conference call but should
update in a few hours on that.
1.5.00: We have the Voice Chat
up now so if you plan to participate you can go test it out. Remember that
the first organized nuon voice chat starts Friday at 8:00 est.
1.4.00: We lost a few updates
on the main page but they should still be in the updates section. We have
an editorial about the critical mass of NUON and whether or not it can
acheive it. We have also added our first hardware preview. We previewed
the Airplay Wireless Control. We have a new logo and have joined the Dream
Allience.
1.2.00: Today we addded a preview of Merlin
Karting
1.1.00: Today we added an aMaze
Preview
12.30.99: On the seventh day of the new millenium Nuon Eternal
will be holding the first Nuon Voice Chat! For more informaiton go to the
Voice Chat
page. It is an excellent opportunity for nuonites to unite and discuss
the future of the revolutionary system.
12.29.99: We now have a store. It is still
under development but so far you can buy books, DVDs, and video games from
Amazon. We don't have much but we are slowly adding things to it.
We also have a search of Amazon so if you want something from them that
we don't have just do a search on it. If you want you can also get NextCard
Visa's from through our store.
12.28.99: It's finally here! The much delayed
redesign of the main page has arrived. Not all of the links to the left
are working yet, but most are. Feel free to send us any feedback and be
sure to stop by the forum.
12.23.99: An article
has been written about the Nuon that I found very interesting. Its titled
"What is Nuon?" and goes indepth to explain everything about it. Click
on the link above to read it.
VM Labs and Samsung Electronics America have announced
today that Samsung would incorporate NUON™ media processing technology
in a new DVD player. Samsung's DVD-N2000 will be the first of their DVD
players to be produced using NUON, and will be available in the first quarter
of 2000 with a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $499. The DVD-N2000
offers exceptionally smooth Shuttle, as well as a new pan-zoom function
that allows the user to select and magnify any portion of the picture up
to twenty times, even while the movie is playing. NUON further allows the
DVD-N2000 to play CD discs at half-normal speed or twice normal speed with
minimal distortion. It can even play a CD backwards. CD Playback is even
more interesting with the elaborate graphics options, including a colorful
spectrum analyzer display and other dynamic images that respond to the
musical content. Of course, games will also be a focus. At least six initial
NUON titles are scheduled for release to coincide with hardware availability.
Peripheral ports will allow users to plug in joysticks, keyboards and other
devices, providing additional ways to interact with the DVD player. To

12.21.99: We have finally updated after months
of absence! I havent updated too much yet, but have tweaked a few things
on the site. Look for goodies such as pics, rants, and more later in the
day.
10.12.99: A huge site update is coming. Screenshots,
links, slight redesign, etc. I have been busy with school lately so updates
have been few. More is coming later today.
9.26.99: NUON equiped HDTV's? It could happen.
Initially HDTV's will only be high definition because of a set-top box.
This leaves the possibility for a Nuon equipped television. It is an interesting
thought but unlikely. I will go more in-depth after I get further
along in my site redesign. The new design will be awsome! I can't wait.
9.21.99: Syan is our new Forum Moderator.
I think I might add a chat room to the site, I will decide on that in the
next few days. I think I am close to getting the logo fixed. I have found
the problem I just have to fix it. I'm going to work on that now.
9.14.99 Part II: I added specs, developers,
and software pages to the About Nuon page. I still haven't gotten
the logo to show up properly. Oh well, back to work.
9.14.99: First let me say that the Dreamcast
kicks ass. Now that thats out of the way, There was a big Playstation2
announcement a few days ago. It is not the best designed system. Some of
the screenshots look beautifull though. I think that the Nuon will do better
though. The reasons can be found in the "About Nuon" section of my site.
I will try and add some to that page today also. I will update with an
editorial or report or something on Microsofts console. It sounds very
similar to Nuon, although not much is known about it yet. Three companies
now are going to make set-top box type systems. The people at VMLabs are
such trend setters :) Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention that we got our
forum up and running. Hopefully we can get the logo to work soon.
9.5.99: Yesterday we launched the site. It
is under heavy construcion and will undergo a redesign by the 9th (dreamcast
launch--yay!).
